Andrés Segovia

21 February 1893 – 2 June 1987

During the same period of time as when W.C. Handy published St. Louis Blues, in Europe, Andrés Segovia was travelling through Europe, even sailing to Central & South America around 1920 to give concerts. A guitar that he played, given to him by luthier Hermann Hauser Sr. in 1937, was described by Segovia as the best guitar in the world.
